Grilled Cheese Dippers are a new spin on an old classic. Fun to make and even more fun to eat! Kids love this one because they get a chance to use the rolling pin. Very exciting stuff for a little chef. I used the traditional white bread with American cheese and ketchup. Please feel free to experiment with different breads, cheeses and dipping sauces, if you like. Here’s how to make them:
You’ll need:
White Bread
American Cheese
Butter
A rolling pin
A knife
Steps:
- Adults- cut the crust off from the bread using a knife or have your little one gently tear it off.
- Roll the bread flat using a rolling pin.
- Add two slices of cheese leaving a little bread exposed on one end.
4.Tightly jelly roll the bread, pressing the exposed piece in, creating a seal. (Now every now and then I get an unruly piece of bread that just doesn’t want to stick. In that case, a little toothpick will do the trick. Just remember to remove it before serving).
5.Melt butter in a skillet & add the grilled cheese roll seam side down, then rotate to each side.
6.Remove them from the pan once they’re browned on all sides.
7.Let them cool for a little & enjoy with your favorite condiment.
These are even great on the colder months with soup as a dipping option. I hope you have fun making some memories creating something yummy with your kids. Enjoy, Bergen County ️
