This Bergen County Mom of Three, is a lifestyle and fashion blogger who’s positivity, posts on Instagram, and blog posts are constantly inspiring us.
Where are you from originally and how long have you lived in Bergen County
Liza: I have been a Wyckoff resident for 37 years; since I was just negative 13 years old! Just kidding … I was three when we moved to town.
Child(ren) and Age(s)?
Liza: I have 9 year-old twins and a 7 year-old.
One thing people would be surprised to know about you…
Liza:Two years ago, I got into rock climbing. It’s something I never imagined myself doing, never mind really enjoying. I started with a women’s climbing and fitness class (led by Anyssa Lucena of @genuineselfwellness) and was instantly hooked. It’s an incredible workout, super-challenging, and I’ve met a wonderful, strong (physically and mentally) group of women. I climbed and rappelled outside with them in New Paltz this past September and it was an unbelievable experience.
I think it’s important for my kids to see me taking care of myself and having a hobby – what’s even better is that it’s an activity I can share with them. They love it, too.
Anyone special you’d like to thank for helping you through parenthood?
Liza: I don’t have to think twice about this one! My Mom. The amount of support and time that she has given to my family is beyond amazing. From helping my husband and I function with three little kids just two years apart to picking them up from extra-curricular activities when I just can’t be in two places at once … she’s the absolute BEST!
Favorite things to do with your kids?
Liza: I love every second I get to spend with my kids, but I especially love our breakfasts at the Lenape Diner in Oakland and family hikes at the Ramapo Reserve in Mahwah. No technology involved. It’s during these times that we have our best chats.
Are you involved in a business venture? Please share!
Liza: I was a special education teacher for almost 10 years and resigned to stay home with my children. Several years ago, I fell into writing and I love every second of it. I create and edit content for a variety of clients’ blogs, websites, social media posts, etc., and recently started a blog of my own (Instagram: @stylishmama). It’s a creative outlet for me and a great way to fine-tune my skills, show future clients what I’m capable of doing, and support my favorite businesses (especially local ones) along the way.
I tend to have a very positive outlook on life. In addition to displaying my favorite things on the blog, I like to share what I’ve learned through my unique life experiences. If I can inspire just one person through my posts or my blogs, then I consider myself successful.
How has the Bergen County Community been instrumental in getting you to where you are now?
Liza: It may not look like it, but running and growing a brand organically via blogging and social media is a lot of work and it isn’t easy. There have been discouraging moments where I wonder what the heck I’m doing, but the positive feedback I receive almost daily inspires me to keep going. I like to “wing it” and see where the days take me. I’m not quite sure where this little adventure will lead, but I’m confident that this will all be worth it.
We couldn’t agree more! We feel so fortunate to have met, and to be inspired by this Bergen County Mom.
