Meet-a-Doc: Meet Dr. Margaret McGuire!
Hackensack Meridian K. Hovnanian Children’s Hospital is proud to feature Margaret McGuire, M.D., FACS, FAAP in this edition of Meet-a-Doc. As a pediatric general surgeon, Dr. McGuire believes it is important to provide care to the whole family and to understand that even the most straightforward operation is still being done to someone’s baby. She specializes in minimally invasive surgery including single incision laparoscopy, pediatric surgical oncology and congenital anomalies of the newborn. Dr. McGuire is also board certified in surgical critical care.
In addition to Neptune and Jackson, Dr. McGuire and team are now seeing patients in Old Bridge, NJ.

What sparked your interest in a medical career?
I had wonderful doctors as a child and was fascinated by the human body and the field of medicine.
What are you always passionate to speak about with parents?
I’m passionate about providing excellent care for my patients. I think it is crucial they and their parents understand their diagnosis and the treatment options available.
What do you love most about New Jersey?
Well, I’m new to New Jersey. I’ve enjoyed the wide variety available here. It’s nice to be able to go to the beach and the mountains all within a short drive.
