This parade consists of village and visiting children, who walk, and ride in decorated carriages, elaborate floats, or personally decorated bicycles. You will see red, white, blue, and lots of patriotism on this day. Prizes are awarded, and a grand time is had by all. The theme this year is “When You Wish Upon a Star,” honoring Disney’s 100th Anniversary.
The Parade steps off promptly at 11:30 am at Preston St. and Hudson Ave., moving west to Roosevelt Ave., north to Union Place, west to Main St., and south to Brewster Park (adjacent to Route 46). The Grand Marshal this year is Elvira “Bebe” Rohlfs; Ms. Rohlfs is a lifelong resident of the Village and will lead the parade. Fraternal and village organizations, youth and sporting associations, bands, and visitors march with pride. Village residents and visitors have enjoyed this event for over a century. Thousands are expected to participate and attend this wonderful annual event.
