Westfield Family PlaySpace at GS PLAZA
Kids of all ages can explore foam sand mounds, crawl over them, and chase their friends. Older kids can enjoy climbing nets, a rope bridge, and other exciting features. There’s even a huge interactive fish tank with lifelike fish and bubbles that respond to movement.
ABC Climbing Structures at Paramus Park
Toddlers and preschoolers love the ABC-themed climbing structures at the enclosed play area on the mall’s second level.
The indoor play area provides a safe and monitored environment for children to play. It’s a wonderful place filled with colorful slides, ball pits, and climbing structures.
Småland Supervised Play Space at Ikea
There is an active area with play equipment, a quiet area where children can rest, space to enjoy a G-Rated film, as well as a creative space for children to color, and do some crafts together.
PARKS
Free Programs include nature walks, community science, paint in the park & more.
107-acre freshwater wetland in Allendale, New Jersey, and is open to the public during daylight hours every day of the year. The easy hiking path for kids boast over 248 species of birds have been recorded here, and more than 50 are known to breed here. The wetlands and deciduous woods provide habitat for many mammals, fish, reptiles and insects.
James A. McFaul Environmental Center
A space where Bergen County residents can learn about and experience the natural environment. The Bergen County Parks Department took what used to be a 81-acre pig farm and created a wildlife sanctuary with nature trails, gardens, and educational science exhibits.
Thielke Arboretum of Glen Rock
A wetland forest with perennial, shade, azalea and grass gardens, lawns, and an allee of Kousa dogwood trees. There is a spring fed pond with fountain and aerators that is stocked annually with fish. A section of the arboretum, across Diamond Brook is a bird sanctuary.
Easy, short trail lined with whimsical “fairy houses” made entirely of natural materials. As you walk along, you’ll discover tiny handmade structures nestled in the forest, each with its own unique charm. These fairy houses have been lovingly created by volunteers and are meant to delight visitors of all ages. Everything is made out of biodegradable materials, and the trail is accessible for families with young children.
Ramapo Valley County Reservation
A fantastic place for families with kids, hike up trails or stay on flat ground strolling around the oak pond.
